Gateway to the Wedding

São Paulo

Most international guests will arrive in Brazil through São Paulo. It's a huge, vibrant city — and the perfect place to meet up before we all head to Taíba. Below are our favorite neighborhoods, hotels, restaurants, and ideas for a pre-wedding get-together.

Where to stay

Near the airport

Guarulhos / GRU

Best for a quick overnight before or after a long-haul flight. Hotels near GRU are convenient and often have free airport shuttles.

In the city

Jardins, Pinheiros & Vila Madalena

Green, walkable, and full of restaurants and cafés. Our favorite base for a couple of days in São Paulo before the wedding.

Where to eat

São Paulo is one of the world's great food cities. Some starting points:

  • Pinheiros & Vila Madalena — casual, creative restaurants, natural wine bars, and great coffee.
  • Jardins — elegant dining, classic Brazilian flavors, and beautiful streets for a morning walk.
  • Mercado Municipal — iconic market, best for a mortadella sandwich and people-watching.
  • Liberdade — São Paulo's Japantown, excellent for ramen, sushi, and Asian bakeries.

Pre-wedding meetups

We're planning one or two low-key meetups in São Paulo for guests who arrive early. Think drinks, a relaxed dinner, or a walk through one of the neighborhoods above. We'll share dates and details closer to the wedding — keep an eye on your email and the RSVP notes.

Getting to Taíba

From São Paulo, fly Fortaleza (FOR, ~3h15) on LATAM, GOL, or Azul. We have arranged ground transfers from FOR to Taíba — share your flight details on the RSVP so we can pair you with guests arriving at a similar time.
